Love this place. If you want true,authentic Mexican food, here you go. They have friendly service. Don't expect anything fancy as far as the building--- the food is the main attraction. I love getting asada tacos and some good salsa. You have four options for salsa-- and they even have recommendations on each of them as far as what type of meat to pair them up with. I also love their bean and cheese gorditas-- this is the closest option that reminds me of my mom's cooking. Get your self some tacos, a Gordita, and for your drink, an agua de Jamaica. You can thank me later.

This is the ONLY place I get burritos from in Sparks / Reno! My favorite place especially their X-Hot salsa is sooo good! I absolutely love this place!

We have all heard the expression: "First impression don't count". I suppose I will have to go back again and have more tacos. I drive by El Taconazo at least 2 times a week. I was early for an appointment close by and I decided to stop and have a small meal. Lucky me! I had two barbacoa tacos and one lengua taco. Folks I am not kidding these are the real deal. These were some of the best tacos I have had in the Truckee meadows. Forget the ambiance, it is neo non-descript with a few tables and a drive-thru. Very well prepared tacos with lots of meat filling, onions and cilantro. Tacos are priced beginning at $1.99 My soft drink was more expensive than any of my tacos. I will have to give it another try and if you like tacos do not pass El Taconazo up.

When you approach the outside not in the best location and does not look appealing from outside but they always say don't judge a book by it's cover. Parking is small but doable. Our order was taken very quickly as we walked in and the gentlemen made good recommendations. The chilireno burrito was amazing along with the pastor tacos. Every one of the 5 of us liked our food from all the variety that we got so all around 5 stars. I would definitely like to go back and try more of the items. The best part is it's reasonably priced!

Taconazo is a delicious & affordable gem in Sparks. She may not be the prettiest from the outside but their tacos and burritos are great! The drive-thru is down which is a bit disappointing, but their service is quick so it's not a long wait inside. There is an outside seating area, but we opted for inside because it was chilly. Whenever I am craving authentic Mexican food, this is my go-to!

They have updated the inside area and they look of the menu but the food hasnt changed. The food is still AMAZING. Favorite place to get tacos. The huevos rancheros is also a new thing we tried and it was yummy.

Omg...I'm wondering why we never ate here before. It's pure deliciousness! We were feeling like having Tacos so we decided to see what location others were raving about and we ended up at Taconazo. We got some carne asada tacos, a asada burrito, a sopé with barbacoa and shared a horchata to drink. First off the horchata was perfect with just the right amount of cinnamon. Yum! Then when I took a bite of the sope I literally started dancing in my seat it was so good. Perfect corn masa crunch topped with shredded beef lettuce, tomato and queso. The meat was tender and seasoned just right. The asada meat is awesome too, it has a flame broiled taste to it. My husband was able to get down 5 of them, that's how good it was. Happy we went out of our comfort zone and found a new local favorite. They did not disappoint.
